Thanks Pavel,

I'll surely keep mind not to repeat such punctuation again, if
some one got hurt/(felt bad) due to this, I'm really sorry for that.

>Have you tried running the "iwevent" command?
I don't have iwevent command in my box.

I'm using OpenWrt Kamikaze 7.09 version on AP(Fonera).

Hostapd version:
	root at OpenWrt:/etc$ hostapd -v
	hostapd v0.5.7
User space daemon for IEEE 802.11 AP management,
	IEEE 802.1X/WPA/WPA2/EAP/RADIUS Authenticator

>the driver you are using
	madwifi-trunk-r3314

>what kind of logging you are using with WPA,
I just changed my mode from open to WPA and able to see following
messages in syslog server.
02-03-2009	11:52:21	Daemon.Info	157.235.208.221	Feb 3
11:35:12 hostapd: ath0: STA 00:40:96:b7:2e:8b IEEE 802.11:
disassociated<000>
02-03-2009	11:52:09	Daemon.Info	157.235.208.221	Feb 3
11:34:59 hostapd: ath0: STA 00:40:96:b7:2e:8b WPA: pairwise key
handshake completed (RSN)<000>
02-03-2009	11:52:09	Daemon.Info	157.235.208.221	Feb 3
11:34:59 hostapd: ath0: STA 00:40:96:b7:2e:8b IEEE 802.11:
associated<000>

Where as, if I change my mode from WPA to WEP or OPEN, I'm able to
connect to my AP, but no messages are displayed in syslog server.

>where you looked for a solution.
I'm very new to wireless domain, But still I searched in madwifi module
and I found that IEEE80211_NOTES is used to log the messages.
I tried to enable the IEEE80211_DEBUG, but I was getting compile time
errors, so I left that.

As in my syslog server I can see log messages from hostapd, I thought
using hostapd I can able to see above log messages for wep and open as
well.

Please let me know if you need some more information.

Thanks,
Sharad.

Sorry, but such use of punctuation can actually discourage others from
replying. I think you could get a better reply if you provided extra
information, such as the version of hostapd, the driver you are using,
what kind of logging you are using with WPA, what you are getting
without WPA and where you looked for a solution.

I guess you are using logger_syslog in hostap.conf? What is the value
of logger_syslog? What is the value of logger_syslog_level? Have you
tried increasing it?

Have you tried running the "iwevent" command?
