Fast roaming

Hi,

I'm trying to get roaming work fast.
Currently, it works but takes random time to switch to a new AP. This
can go from 4 sec to 20 sec.
Under Windows, roaming happes within a few seconds (usually not more
then 3 sec).

I've already played with the different scan modes in
wpa_supplicant.conf. The best so far is ap_scan=1 and scan_sid=1.
Do you know any more options I can set to speed roaming up?

I'm using the madwifi driver.
