Hi,
I am trying to connect with my iBook G4 to my WPA2 access point under
Fedora 8. It works fine with the same laptop booted into MacOSX,
however it never worked so far with Fedora. The WLAN card is based on
the Broadcom 4306 chipset with the IEEE 802.11 MAC Core revision of 5
- thus the kernel (2.6.23.9-90.fc8) autoloads the b43 driver. The
required firmware has been provided.
When I start wpa_supplicant (v0.5.7) with
wpa_supplicant -iwlan0 -Dwext -c /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf -dd > wpa_supplicant.log
the following will be written to STDERR:
ioctl[SIOCSIWAUTH]: Operation not supported
WEXT auth param 4 value 0x0 -
Without redirecting STDOUT to a file, I see that the last output
before the "ioctl[SIOCSIWAUTH]: Operation not supported" line was:
wpa_driver_wext_set_countermeasures
Does this mean that the b43 driver does not support a command issued
by wpa_supplicant?
Thanks,
rob.
