Seems like you have some kind of interrupt delivery problem with pcmcia 
system rather that hostap driver problem.

Try to allow the irq 9 & irq 2, i.e. include them (not exclude) and add 
line "exclude irq 3" to the /etc/pcmcia/config.opts.

This is normal because you have (old) 1.4.9 firmware. PRI: v1.1.1 and 
STA: v1.7.4 would be a good alternative if you want to update the fw.
