Hello
I am running wpa_supplicant_3.8.1 + madwfi driver on debian 2.6.18.8. I am trying to connect it with AP with WPA-PSK security enabled bot facing problems.
Running iwlist on client side gives me ssid of AP but ruuning wpa_supplicant I get
wpa_supplicant -dd -K -D madwifi -i ath0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_

and finally I am not able to associate with AP.
Following is the wpa_supplicant.conf file
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=0
eapol_version=1
ap_scan=1
fast_reauth=1
network={
ssid="ssid"
scan_ssid=1
psk="passphrase"
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
pairwise=TKIP
group=TKIP
proto=WPA
}
ruuning "wpa_client -i ath0 status" gives following
bssid=00:0B:6B:36:E7:29
pairwise_cipher=TKIP
group_cipher=TKIP
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
wpa_state=SCANNING
Supplicant PAE state=DISCONNECTED
suppPortStatus=Unauthorized
EAP state=DISABLED
I am concerned about lines
Selecting BSS from priority group 0
0: 00:0b:6b:36:e7:29 ssid='' wpa_ie_len=0 rsn_ie_len=0
Why wpa_supplicant is not able to get the AP's ssid or WAP IE. I believe at this point at self association breaks.
On the AP side hide_ssid option has not been enabled. Any way ruuning "iwlist ath0 scan" I get AP's ssid in list so that should not be a problem.
Also I feel that AP(hostapd) is properly configured and working fine because it does associate with D-LINK WUSB + xsuppllicent with WPA-PSK enabled.
For any sort of help thanking in advance
chandra
