Wpa_supplicant + -Dadm8211

I have a Xandros 3.0 linux laptop with a smc2635w card (adm8211 chipset)
this card works fine in a home environment (128 wep keyed). But a work I 
need to
use peap-mschapv2 to authenticate

by default here is what I get :
wpa_supplicant -i eth1 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

Trying to associate with 00:07:0e:b8:ef:25 (SSID='uofs' freq=0 MHz)

it trys to use the prism chipset

so I try :
wpa_supplicant -i eth1 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -Dadm8211
Unsupported driver 'adm8211'

any idea why it doesn't like the adm8211?
