WPA2 preauthentication , then how to associate?

All,

Fast roaming can be achieved by using preauthentication and PMK caching.
Preauthentication and caching is successful. However, I want to know how
to trigger the roaming.

However, I don't know how to trigger caching action, after
preauthentication has been performed.

Station is using Madwifi (madwifi-old) card.

Two APs (linksys WRT54G v4.20.7) configured with the same SSID, they are
connected to the same ethernet.

WPA supplicant version 0.4.8

WPA configuration (using EAP-TLS, radius server, TKIP, WPA2)

Operating system of station : Red Hat 9

In wpa_cli , a command "pmksa" shows two cache entries of the two APs.

How to trigger the association with the second AP ?

Should I use AES instead of TKIP? But AES doesn't operate on my madwifi
driver and card.

Thanks a lot!!

Regards,

Philip Ho
