Subject: hostap/hostapd/wpa_supplicant - new stable release v0.2.8

New versions of the Host AP driver, hostapd, and wpa_supplicant were
just released and are now available from http://hostap.epitest.fi/

This release is the final bug fix version from the stable (0.2.x)
branch. It has been 19 months since the 0.2.4 release started this
stable release branch and since then, two new stable branches (0.3.x
and 0.4.x) have been started. Because of this, branch 0.2.x has now
reached the end of its life and the CVS branch hostap_0_2_branch is
now closed.

This 0.2.8 release is a collection of bug fixes that has been merged
into the CVS branch since the previous 0.2.x release. Anyone using
earlier 0.2.x versions is recommended to update to this version and to
start preparing for upgrade to a newer stable branch (0.3.x or 0.4.x)
to get back to a supported release.


hostap-driver:
* fixed /proc/net/hostap/wlan# removing for cases where the interface
  name has been changed

hostap-utils:
* no changes since 0.2.6

hostapd:
* fixed a bug which caused some RSN pre-authentication cases to use
  freed memory and potentially crash hostapd
* fixed stdarg use in hostapd_logger(): if both stdout and syslog
  logging was enabled, hostapd could trigger a segmentation fault in
  vsyslog on some CPU -- C library combinations

wpa_supplicant:
* fixed parsing of strings that include both " and # within double
  quoted area (e.g., "start"#end")
* couple of other bug fixes merged from newer branches
