Connection to plain static WEP secured networks with ipw2100

I noticed on my girlfriend's laptop, who has an ipw2100 wifi, that
connections to her plain wep secured network are broken: wpa_cli reports
successful auth, and everything looks okay, but I don't get an ip from
the dhcp client.

Does anyone else notice this problem? Does
http://hostap.epitest.fi/bugz/show_bug.cgi?id=106 has anything to do
about this?
