Hello,
I installed my hostap driver and I can see it when i
do lsmod:
hostap_pci 65808 0
hostap 144008 1 hostap_pci
wlan0 was supposed to be my hostap wereless
(Prism2.5),
My iwconfig looks like this:
--------------------------------------------
wifi0 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"test"
Mode:Master Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00
Bit Rate:11 Mb/s
Sensitivity=1/3
Retry min limit:8 RTS thr:off Fragment

-----------------------------
This is weird because if I change the essid of wifi0,
essid of wlan0 changes too.
When I change the essid to my network name, it can't
connect.(can't fetch IP)
When I do "ifup wlan0" I get this:
--------------------
cannot change name of wifi0 to eth0: Device or
resource busy
cannot change name of eth0 to eth1: Device or resource
busy
cannot parse MAC ` wifi0
wlan0 eth0 eth1' at argument 2

interface 'dev14062' not found
interface 'dev9133' not found
interface 'dev4445' not found
-------------------------------
...and it does "interface 'dev....' not found" for a
really really long time with all different numbers, I
haven't had time to wait it out, but it's more than 15
minutes and it gets slower and slower after time.
My ifconfig looks like this:
---------------------------------

This is really messed up..look at that mac address..,
can someone please help me? I just installed the
hostap driver, I didn't install hostap utilities. do
I need hostap utilities to connect to my wireless AP
and use the net?
I am using Fedora Core 4 kernel 2.6.13-rc2
Thanks a lot for ANY help I get, I am very desparate.
Kind Regards,
Alex
