hello,

thanks very much Jouni.....

The problem is solved by downloading the new version of hostap 0.1.3 ....

i have a littel query on IAPP and hostap daemon. In the hostapd.conf file i have both enabled 802.1x and IAPP support. the broadcast interface for iapp is br0 which is bridge between the eth0 and wlan0. in the expt, the senario is that there are two APs which have same configuration as above described and winXP as client.

when client moves from one AP to close to other AP,then second AP is generating IAPP.Announce Request frame and it also asks for user name and passwd from the user. the IAPP.Announce Request ,which is after UDP packet, contains

                 version:0

                 type:announce request

             protocol data units

                       Network Name(0) value ""

                        PHY value(16):Propriteary

what does this signify?

according to my knowledge, IAPP is used to transfer the credentials between the APs..isn't it? so what should be wrong with settings or till hostap has not implemented whole IAPP standard?

i have also experminted without IAPP support and only 802.1x authentication support .. I received same packets as in above case except the IAPP.Announce Request.

so what i gained using the IAPP support?

please shed on this issue...................

Thanks in advance

Could you please re-test with a current version (0.1.3 or 0.2.2) of the
driver? I do not have resources for debugging old 0.0.x versions and I
highly recommend that people upgrade to current versions because of many
bug fixes that has been done for 0.1.x and 0.2.x branches.

Which you will need to send to make it possible for people to debug
this. In addition, you will need to resolve the addresses in the back
trace to symbols with ksymoops.
