proc stats not updating

Hi,

  I am running hostap-driver-0.2.5. I am trying to
collect the number unicast Tx and Rx packets
send/received by the card. I tried looking in
/proc/net/hostap/wlan0/stats file, but it seems the
stats in this file don't get updated to reflect the
true number of Tx and Rxs.

While netstat -ni was displaying way more packets
trasmitted and received.

# grep Tx  /proc/net/hostap/wlan0/stats
TxUnicastFrames=2
TXMulticastframes=0
TxFragments=2
TxUnicastOctets=240
TxMulticastOctets=0
...

# netstat -ni
Iface MTU Met  RX-OK  RX-ERR  RX-DRP  RX-OVR  TX-OK
TX_ERR TX-DRP TX-OVR Flg

wlan0  1500 0  723  0  15  0 370  0  0  0  BMRU

Am i looking at the wrong place ?
