HostAP processing of Ethernet FCS when in bridge mode

A blast from the past. I almost forgot about this issue. It looks to me like the skb given to the hard_start_xmit routine in the driver definitely contains the fcs. For a typical HTTP payload of 1500 bytes, hard_start_xmit receives 1504. Is this something that might be hardware independent? It definitely would not make sense to send the Ethernet FCS over the 802.11 link. I am a bit confused on this one ...
