This sequence makes hostap go blooey

This is what I am able to capture in the air when my AP goes down.
No kernel messages on the serial console, no nothing, it simply reboots.
0e:16 is the AP and 0e:18 is the client station, fyi:

That last frame there is the last I hear from my ap, until 45
seconds when it's finially reset and running again. I am at a loss to
understand why power management comes into play - the ap and the client
are busy talking back and forth, and are just a few hundred feet apart
with only 1 other wireless network within earshot (from about 1/4 mile
away).
Any ideas anyone?
