Well, one would need to get some more details in addition "it does not
work" to be able to help with this.. Debug logs from hostapd or the
client supplicant could be useful..

As far as authentication is concerned, not really.. However, if you want
to use dynamic WEP key generation (wep_key_len_broadcast or
wep_key_len_unicast non-zero in hostapd.conf), you must use an EAP
method that provides suitable master key for this. EAP-MD5 is not such a
method.
