It is not overstate.
In every case where it says "newer boards use ...", I am only finding

If you are still getting things, you are getting them current inventory.
I have been emailing Intersil's "Warf, Brian (GSPN)" <bwarf at intersil.com>,
about where to get devices, specifically PCI ones, and he was a bit helpful,
but generally not.
It looks like HawkingTech's WP251 is still Prism, but I can't seem to get
it. Yes, using Cardbus+adapters works, but is sometimes physically less
reliable, and there usually aren't as many antenna options.
