Subject: hostap_cs: Initialization failed - ASUS WL-100 and Ricoh
RL5C475 cardbus (tried a lot of different configs)
I am using the latest we patch V16 patch. I am using hostap_0.0.3,
pcmcia-cs-3.2.4, wireless tools latest version
Tried in kernel pcmcia on / off vs separate modules pcmcia-cs
Using a ricoh RL5C475 cardbus controller with an ASUS-WL-100 (prism2
compatible PCMCIA) card.
Before I had the wireless extensions 'half working' (did show up in
iwconfig), long delays and after running debian's ifup wlan0, the
extensions would apear in iwconfig, and after that it would list that
wlan0 no extensions. Ejecting/inserting card, loading unloading hostap
modules didn't matter.
The latest messages are:

Now I am trying to install the whole thing again with kernel 2.4.18,
patched with we-14,we-15, using the pcmcia-cs package instead of the
in-kernel drivers because there was a report of certain delays and
freezes in 2.4.20 with iwconfig that I did experience the first time
around.
I do have irq_mode=0 /etc/default/pcmcia (to make the ricoh work) and
pci=biosirq (/etc/lilo.conf/ append=)(because it is an old pentium 70 (a
dell gxmt 590 to be exactly))
Does anybody know what is going on?

At startup it generates the following dmesg. (different errors!)
