LG LW1100P on Debian Woody

Martin -- I have the same setup, and it works fine,
contact me for config files and so on.
hostap_cs is the right driver, the LG LW1100P is actually a PCMCIA card
in a PCI holder, as you said.
A couple of things to try:
1. I'm using i82365 rather than yenta_socket,
with a line "i82365 irq_mode=1" in /etc/modules
2. Add a line into /etc/modutils/aliases
"alias wlan0 hostap_cs" and rebuild modules.conf with update-modules.

ps. I'd be interested if you find latest loadable firmware, from dmesg:
wlan0: NIC: id=0x8003 v1.0.0
wlan0: PRI: id=0x15 v0.3.0
wlan0: STA: id=0x1f v0.8.3
