Firmware download not working: ioctl: connection timed out

Hi. I'm trying to upgrade the firmware of an USR 2410 with versions 0.8.3, 1.4.9 and 1.7.4 but with no results.
I compiled hostap 0.0.3, with prism2_srec and using appropiate defines in hostap_config.h, but when I use prism2_srec -f wlan0 xxx.hex, i get:
Ioctl: connection timed out
Missing wlan component info
Could not read wlan RIDs

Any idea why is this happening?
