Problems with rts in 0.1.2

First post here, so hope to do it the right way :).
I'm having very serious problems with ver 0.1.2. Wifi
gear : 2xNetgear PCI MA311 with default firm running
on a rooftop PIII at 450 with RH9.0 - 2.4.20-13.9.

Everything works fine with rts off. When I give rts
ANY value, then all clients have an instant and major
deterioration of Signal Quality, others don't see the
AP at all. DL rates drop to 1K/s. 
The experiment:
Client B is DLing thru the AP, from client A, my PC,
which has a wired link to the AP. He gets excellent
signal quality(60-70/92) and a rate of 570Kb/s. RTS is
OFF.
I turn rts ON, giving it a number of,etc 250. Quality
drops to ZERO in B's side, DL rate drops to <30K/s. 
I turn rts OFF again. DL rate is back on its peak.

Here's some of my dmesg(don't now if its the rigth
part):

This was repeated several times(rts on and off),
producing exactly the same (detrimental) results. It
seems like a problem in transmition.
