helo,

after a lot of struggle i have successfully get my Zcomax Xl-325H card
as an access point using the latest driver which is "hostap-0.0.1" under
the kernel linux-2.4.20 running on RedHat 7.3... everything is okay...
but why is that my client cannot 'ping' my IP address? he can
acknowledge my hostap pc based already through the command 'iwconfig'

i set my IP address as 192.168.41.1 and here's here's my network result:

bash # ifconfig
/eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:04:76:72:82:51
          inet addr:10.10.6.33 Bcast:10.10.6.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

on my client side..... with an IP address 192.168.41.2.. here's the
result as well..
bash# iwconfig
/wlan0 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"dmr"
          Mode:Master Frequency:2.422GHz Access Point: 00:60:B3:76:9E:8A
          Bit Rate:11Mb/s Tx-Power:-36 dBm Sensitivity=1/3
          Retry min limit:8 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:off
          Power Management:off
Link Quality:0/92 Signal level:-69 dBm Noise level:-90 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:32 Invalid misc:5000 Missed beacon:0/

if he can have my mac address on the access point already how come we
could not 'ping' each other?

best regrds,
jarmie
