I have a special PC Card slot with a switch that can be used to select
pull-up for a pin (SPKR?). I know that this changes something in the
card initialization (led remains off), but I'm not sure whether it is
all that is needed for Genesis mode since I haven't yet had enough time
to write a program to use Genesis mode.

Intersil knowledge base for Prism has an answer with an attached pdf
documentation on how to setup Genesis mode. Search for Answer ID 1992
and look at Download.pdf. However, I do not remember how the pins of
HFA3841 were mapped to the pins in PC Card slot. Reference design
schematics would be useful for that, but opening a card and finding out
where the mentioned HFA3841 pins are connected to is another alternative
;-).
