OpenZaurus 3.2 & D-Link DCF 660W with HostAP driver not working!

Hi:
I'm having a bunch of problems with OpenZaurus 3.2 & a D-Link DCF-660W
wireless CF card. It acquires the AP about one time in thirty. The
rest of the time the link light just blinks on and off.
I understand that some people have this combination working fine, and
others have the same endless problems as me - so I think there is some
sort of software problem or a subtle change to the firmware.

The AP is a D-Link 1000AP.
Ideas? Is there any other information which would be useful?
