Why do you think hostap does not recognize NICID 0x8003?

Wasn't it already able to initialize it correctly and thus "knows that
card"?

However, you are trying to load a firmware image that is not targetted
for that Prism2 model. prism2_srec refuses to download that image since
it would just crash the card..
