Firmware and Bridging Questions.

I was just about to post and ask this same question, but not related to
WDS. I personally have not done it, but a friend of mine put a 200mW
card in a WET11 with no special firmware, and it was still able to be a
client bridge. It is in Managed mode associated to an AP, and it can
bridge the traffic to the LAN port? What are they doing special that
HostAP cannot do? Are they downloading some special firmware in RAM that
allows this bridging to take place?
