What kind of problem? There was a bug in old (now deprecated) method of
setting monitor mode with 'iwpriv wlan0 monitor #' (new method,
'iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor' worked fine). This is fixed in the CVS
tree, but not in the latest release (2002-10-12).

So was the problem you are seeing in not having libpcap or in not
getting the driver to work in monitor mode?
