802.1x Support

Do you mean that you can successfully associate a station with hostapd
if you are not using 1x?

That's odd.. Which version of the driver are you using? Are you using
the driver and hostapd from the same version (i.e., one should not mix
two different versions of driver/hostapd)? Do you see anything in
'dmesg' output from the driver? Can you run minimal EAP authentication
in hostapd (i.e., without external RADIUS server) with 'hostapd -xm
wlan0'?
