LOL a few months back I went through a process of purging my various
batch files only to find (as the options changed from one version to
another) that the collection grew again!

And recording modes changed from one version to another, as did
defaults. You really have to read to RTFM for each version, especially
the release notes.

Probably why I've not bothered, I've enough things going on in my life
without adding more "stuff" at this time, what with plans to replace
HDDs with SSDs in my laptop, build a NAS and rationalise my media files,
