Hi and thanks for the link.  Not sure about ffmpeg being the cause but 
read the thread and a few others.  I would like first to use haf instead 
of dash.  A one off trial just now seemed to work.

How do I add "hafbest" to my prefs.  Tried the obvious prefs-add 
radiomode=hafbest but that gave me a search option!!!  Grateful for some 
guidance please.
