Red button Olympics

I have found this which says, in effect, recording red button will be easier 
when we can record HLS.

We now have HLS recording.  Are there any suggestions for finding the wanted 
red button stream and recording it?  Is it only possible to record a red 
button stream live, or is there a way to retrieve it afterwards?
