MPEG-DASH is currently not a good idea for get_iplayer. As Dinky says in this post on the forum https://squarepenguin.co.uk/forums/thread-538-post-2931.html#pid2931 it requires more processing and other streams are available at the moment that are just as good and more user friendly.

Hopefully the HLS streams will stay available for some time to come but if the need for MPEG-DASH support does arise, it would be looked into.
