Looks like Nitro isn't the way forward for open data - developer keys being revoked in one week :(

Back in September, before the whole recent debacle, I applied for a
Nitro developer key as I was going to do a Raspberry Pi blind project.

I got a key, but the whole system seemed extremely flaky and
undocumented. There was supposed to be a forum, but it had 3 old posts
and no new postings ever got allowed through.

Additionally, email enquiries to the official help email went
unanswered. I tracked down a different address from press release
(http://www.bbc.co.uk/academy/technology/software-engineering/article/art20141013145843465)
and got a reply.

And then, this morning, I got another reply. As this list doesn't
allow formatting, I'll just paste both below, you can figure out which
is which!

If anyone else applied for a Nitro key recently, have you got the same
email? Doesn't look good, eh? A far cry from the initial enthusiastic
"nitro is the future" press releases.
Good job I didn't actually spend weeks building anything with it in the end, eh?

Hi Jonathan,

This project is definitely not dead. There is much work going on
behind the scenes; the results of which will start to become apparent
on developer.bbc.co.uk over the coming weeks and months.

In the meantime, the API key you have registered will work for the
items where it is not crossed-out. However as I'm sure you will have
seen, there is limited documentation publicly available for many of
these services at present. You might therefore wish to wait until we
publish documentation before deciding whether the services are
appropriate for whatever use case you have in mind.

Hello

I'm emailing you because you have an active Apigee developer key
allowing access to the BBC Content API and your key is registered to a
non-BBC email address. I intend to revoke this access in one week's
time.

The BBC Platform API team are in the process of rationalising our APIs
 (see https://developer.bbc.co.uk/content/bbc-platform-api ). As the
team progress with their work to make a consistent set of APIs these
will be made available.

Thank you for your interest in using BBC data. If you have any
questions or concerns then please email me.

David
