I only use the CLI and only manually (not the WebGUI nor PVR),
but on Windows Vista SP2 x86, I tried this command:

get_iplayer --type=radio --pid=b007k4rl --force -w --fatfilename -s --subdir-format 
"<nameshort>" --tag-podcast-radio

and the audio file was downloaded and placed within a folder named "How 
Tickled Am I",
see console output:

Files\get_iplayer>get_iplayer --type=radio --pid=b007k4rl --force -w
