get_iplayer just stopped working

A couple of nights ago all was well but suddenly I can no longer download and I get 
Segmentation faults reported.

The only thing I can think of is a library has been damaged during my efforts to fix HP 
printing problem.

I am running 64 bit openSUSE 12.1.

Please could somebody guide me either to a fresh install of get_iplayer or a fix.  Getting 
urgent because some programmes are about to be removed from bbc server before I have 
had chance to download.  Please help me.
