I agree, but it takes time to fix underlying problems - and workarounds 
can fill the gap. The TV and radio shows are available for (usually) a 
week, and I'd much rather get them now with a kludge than hope they're 
repeated after the problem's fixed in a month.

Of course, sometimes the problem *can't* be fixed - because it isn't a 
problem with the program at all but elsewhere, or it's so fundamental or 
pervasive there's just not the time, skills or manpower to fix it. And 
when that happens...well, you get a mess of temporary workarounds that 
become permanent.
