Alex, there are a couple of things you could try to confirm this:
on the pi:
downgrade rtmpdump to v2.4 (you should be able to do this with
aptitude or synaptic, it's probably possible with apt-get too, but
I've never needed to know how) or crudely just uninstall get-iplayer
and rtmpdump, and reinstall using $ apt-get install get-iplayer
This /should/ get you back to the stock versions of get-iplayer (2.82)
and rtmpdump (2.4 without the patch), and if you tried this we would
then expect it to fail. (I think you'll need to downgrade get-iplayer
because the one I built requires a later version of rtmpdump than
ships with raspbian.)
on the server:
sounds like you're probably using ppa:jon-hedgerows/get-iplayer. if
you try ppa:jon-hedgerows/get-iplayer-testing (or just grab the
relevant rtmpdump .deb from the -testing repo in launchpad) then you
can see if the patched rtmpdump works.
thanks for the feedback,
Jon
