Nigel,
Many thanks indeed for that.  Please forgive the OT but I am getting error messages 
and need some help with the debug info.  Before I waste peoples time or try and 
understand 7400+ lines of script is there a simple config issue I should be adjusting for 
my openSUSE setup?  Others have suggested the itv site is "broken."
I suspect the script need slight modification but I wouldn't know where to start.
