FWIW, I would say the better option is to build a static version as you
did with ffmpeg. Once the Ubuntu rtmpdump package maintainers advance
beyond the current source snapshot they're using for the next release,
they will have to change the version of librtmp0 to reflect the change
in binary interface. You might as well leave the versioning to them.
As discussed previously, you could force your librtmp0 build onto the
target machine by tweaking your package build. I still think that would
be OK, but why worry?
