The latest scrip solves all issues here in openSUSE Linux 11.4
It's in /usr/bin
Which probably the case for most distributions, but check.
Just rename the existing file get_iplayer to get_iplayer.bak
Move the new file in place and do: sudo chmod a+x get_iplayer

As a note, just be careful when you copy the script from the browser to 
your text editor that it doesn't throw an extra line in at the top.
