Reboot after install on G4/Radeon 9200 hangs at configuring kernel parameters

Hello,

I have a Power Mac G4 (Digital Audio model) and tried installing FC3 as
a dual boot on it following the excellent instructions at

http://www.bytebot.net/geekdocs/ibook/fedorappc.html

I made it through the install fine and the installer even seemed to
recognize my Radeon 9200 (PCI) graphics card. X looked fine--though
after one of the first screens the color depth lower and made things a
little odd looking. In any event, at reboot, the system hangs at
"Configuring kernel parameters". Just before this message it appears
the system is trying to start the X server, since the screen blanks.

After trolling the Web, I have seen answers ranging from "remove rhgb
and quiet" from grub.conf to "turn off acpi". Others suggest that the
problem is in the X configuration.

Q1: Is this an X problem?
Q2: Can I use Ctrl-Alt-F2 (or perhaps some other F-key) to break out to
another console to fix my X configuration? I thought I tried this, as
well as Ctrl-c, but nothing happened. (I'm not near the machine at the
moment).
Q3: Should I removed rhgb and quiet from my yaboot.conf file? I see
they were in fact automatically generated there. Do I use acpi=off or
noapic in my "append", assuming that is even necessary?

BTW, the kernel installed by the FC3 iso's I downloaded (recently) is
2.6.9-1.667

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
/Mike
