Not in your case, short of getting to rename the partition (and I don't
know of a non-destructive way in OS X) to Extra 

If I were you, I'd NFS install my way. Your DVD image is still useful,
you can loopback mount it, and just get the updated parted

parted was fixed, it just didn't make FC-4
