iMac wont boot from cd

Hi all,

 I'm trying to get fedora ppc installed on my aged slot loading iMac.
It wont boot from CD 1 by default or by a firmware boot. I did burn
the boot.iso and it sorta boots from that but can't find the install
script.

1) Is it worth waiting for since I have Yellow Dog 4 on this machine already
2) If so, what am I missing?
3) I'll never go back to OS 9 and the machine isn't powerfull enough for OS X.
