in GPT you have a partname so you will have this

          `---- 0x00100000-0x063fffff: /dev/ata0.boot
          `---- 0x06400000-0x3fefffff: /dev/ata0.1
          `---- 0x06400000-0x3fefffff: /dev/ata0.root

so you do not care where is the boot partition just that the partition exist

and just mount root as rootfs
