are there still issues with building sandbox on x86_64?

  perusing the page in the wiki discussing sandbox:

which mentions problems with sandbox on x86_64.  i've had no trouble
building and running sandbox under ubuntu on my 64-bit asus laptop.
are there specific known issues?  thanks.
