firmware cleaning work

Hallo Adrian,

i discovered that there are more parts of kernel driver requesting dead 
code insight of firmware. I think we should continue cleaning work on it 
to make it more readable. May be even if it will nuke complete HAL.

Right now i rolled out my old mega_patch_set. Which is working for me 
without noticeable regressions. I and Eugene will do more test with it, 
but it's time to aks your opinion. Will you apply it, or do you have 
some other ideas?
