speedtouch on 6Mbps down rate

I tried increasing the number of urbs, the number of buffers,
and the buffer size.

Increasing the number of urbs and the number of buffers had
no noticeable effect.  Increasing the buffer size to the
maximum caused a huge slow down!  But why?  I don't know yet...
