[OpenWrt-Devel] what are plans for migrating packages from git.openwrt.org/packages to github?

was wondering why i couldn't find some packages documented on the
wiki, and finally ran across this discussion of the migration of
packages from http://git.openwrt.org/packages.git to
https://github.com/openwrt/packages:
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=51078
the "issue" i was having is that, because of that migration, some
packages clearly documented in the wiki are unavailable now that the
"old packages" feed line is, by default, commented out. examples:
* gpsd: documented here:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/networked.gps
but no longer available. i can see the package "ugps" as a possible
alternative, is that meant to be a replacement?
* multiwan: mentioned in a number of places:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/?do=search&id=multiwan
also no longer available, but "mwan3" appears to be the obvious
replacement, yes? (interestingly, while multiwan is not available, the
luci package luci-multiwan still is.)
* wifidog: same with this, even though it's clearly documented here:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/wireless.hotspot.wifidog
so what is the proper approach to situations like this? if something
like wifidog hasn't been migrated, does that mean it's no longer
supported or maintained?
it's not so much the unavailability of packages that used to be
available, so much as wiki pages suggesting pretty clearly they're
still there.
thoughts?
