I think you can just lie to it about the URL you want it to post its
results to, can't you? Give it your *own* server (openssl s_server
perhaps) and also I think it needs to be given an md5sum of the server's
certificate fingerprint for verification?

Its logs are also fairly verbose, IIRC.
