Haha. :)

At my day job I've been using 2.6.x on Sharp ARM chip,

  http://www.logicpd.com/eps/devkits/sharp/sdk/sharp_sdk/

  http://wiki.buici.com/twiki/bin/view/Main/SharpLH7A40x

since early 2004, and its been rock solid, so I felt pretty confident
about running on the Netwinder. I installed gentoo in a chroot on my
"other" netwinder partition, set up the kernel, and yes it basically
"just worked". :)

2.6.x has arch/arm/configs/netwinder_defconfig, which I think I used
as a baseline for my .config.

I saw Gentoo on a Netwinder at last years LinuxWorldExpo in Boston
(alongside a Mips Qube, man it felt like 1998!), so I knew it was
possible, and it despite a few hiccups (like any Gentoo install) its
wasn't all that bad, and I knew gentoo would always have up to date
module-init-tools, etc. to keep up with whatever the 2.6.x kernels
need as time goes by.

[ Speaking of which, LWE Boston is this week! ]

See you,
