Add EFI Support for large disks

Hi there,

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this, but:

I', hoping to add large disk (3TB) support to my Raspberry Pi (Raspbian). From my reading, it is looking like I need to add EFI support to my kernel. My issue is that i have done zero kernel work before. I have been reading the http://elinux.org/RPi_Kernel_Compilation page, and i am a little confused. I'm not sure where and how to set the CONFIG_EFI_PARTITION option. To be honest, I'm pretty confused all around about this process. I have been posting on various forums about this, but have not yet found any answers.

Any pointers or tutorials on how to get this done?
